Recognised Construction Details ™ (RCD) provides energy assessors, builders, architects and other designers with a suite of independently assessed thermal junction details that have been certified for use in demonstrating compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations.
The portal was commissioned by the Concrete Block Association and The Aircrete Products Association to support the 2021 update to Part L of the Building Regulations and the move towards the government's Future Homes Standard that has increased the focus on heat loss through thermal bridges in new homes.
Our brief was to make it as easy as possible for users to find the drawing they needed by a process of selecting relevant values of insulation thickness and thermal conductivity for insulation and blockwork and then download the relevant drawing pdf from over 1,000 options.
They needed a custom-built website and selection process to achieve this and we worked closely with the architects and associations to find the best solution.
